AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron men's basketball program has closed in on women's soccer in the inaugural Alumni Student-Athlete Giving Challenge. In the second standings update for the giving challenge, hosted by the Department of Athletics, Varsity "A" Association, and Z-Fund, women's soccer holds onto the lead. Men's basketball, men's soccer, football, and volleyball round out the top five.

The fundraising competition officially kicked off during the 2016 All-Sport Homecoming Reunion and will continue until the end of the calendar year.
