AKRON, Ohio - University of Akron head men's cross country coach and track and field distance coach Lee LaBadie has been honored as a nominee for FloTrack's American Distance Coach of the Year award.

LaBadie was recognized for his tutelage of Olympic Bronze Medalist Clayton Murphy, who posted the top American time (1:42.93) in the 800 meters in 2016.
