AKRON, Ohio -- Isaiah Johnson scored 20 points, grabbed nine rebounds and hit a jumper at the buzzer to lift Akron over Ball State 65-63 on Tuesday night.
Johnson caught an inbounds pass with 2.3 seconds left along the baseline and swished a shot over a defender at the buzzer.
Officials added 0.2 seconds to the clock, but the Cardinals' desperation shot bounced off the rim.
Jimond Ivey added 10 points for the Zips (20-4, 10-1 Mid-American), who won their 29th straight at home after seeing their 12-game win streak overall end at Ohio 85-70 on Saturday.
