Anita Brown’s 29 points weren’t enough to overcome the MAC-leading Ohio Bobcats, as the University of Akron women’s basketball team lost 101-73 in Akron on Saturday.
The Zips fell to 13-12 overall on the season and to 7-7 in the conference while Ohio improved to 21-4 and 13-1 in MAC play.
Brown led the game with 29 points, and she was the only Zip to score in double figures. Brown went 9-21 from the field and 10-14 from the foul line, and she grabbed seven rebounds. Sharpshooting guard Hannah Plybon finished with eight points and six rebounds, while making just one of her nine 3-pointers.
