Archbishop Hoban High School senior Tyler Gilchrist has committed to play football at the University of Akron.
Gilchrist, an Akron resident, helped guide the Hoban Knights to a 14-1 overall record in 2015 and a win over Toledo Central Catholic in the Division III state championship game at Ohio Stadium in Columbus.
“I just want to say thank you to all the teams that invested their time into me,” Gilchrist wrote on his public Twitter account.
“It has been a blessing to be able to have the opportunities that I’ve had. With that said I have decided to further my education and athletics at The University of Akron.
