GULF SHORES, Ala.— University of Akron Director of Operations & Events Allan Hoon has been recognized as a Sports Event Venue Professional to Watch in 2017, the SportsEvents Media Group announced on Tuesday.
"Congratulations to Allan. He's a very hardworking and loyal colleague to the University of Akron," said Paul Hammond, Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Operations. "Allan takes great pride in his work."
Hoon, who began working for Zips Athletics in 2005, served as the Stile Athletics Field House manager. Promoted in October 2015 to his current position, he manages the total logistical operations, programming, and uses for the field house and InfoCision Stadium– Summa Field.
