YPSILANTI, Mich.- The Akron softball team split a Mid-American Conference twinbill at Eastern Michigan on Saturday at Varsity Field.
In the first game, the Zips lost, 3-0. Akron finished the nightcap with a 10-1 victory.
The Zips improve to 13-18 overall and 2-3 in MAC play. The Eagles fell to 13-16 overall and 2-3 in MAC play.
In the first game, the game remained scoreless through five-and-a-half innings. The Zips threatened to score in the top of the sixth inning with two runners on, but weren't able to drive in the runs.
In the bottom of the sixth, EMU hit an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead.
