AKRON, Ohio – Four Akron student-athletes and two members of the Akron softball coaching staff visited North Royalton Middle School yesterday to visit and talk with the fifth grade class on career day.
Softball coaches Julie Pratt and Julie Boyes, both University of Akron softball alumni, talked to the students about the parameters of their jobs and what it is like being collegiate coaches.
Accompanying them were four student-athletes, Alyssa Nicholas (Softball), Erin Seiler (Softball), Sarah Sivic (Women's soccer), and Lavonne Gauthney (Football), who showed off their individual skills from their own sports and fielded questions from the kids.
