DEKALB, Ill. – The University of Akron women's soccer team battled for 110 minutes on the road against Northern Illinois (4-7-3, 3-3-1 MAC) to a 0-0 draw to earn their third point in the Mid-American Conference play on Friday night at the NIU soccer complex.
"We were well in control of possession for portions of the game. We had three clear cut chances but did not capitalize," said head coach Noreen Herlihy. "The players competed very well and we will take the point on the road."
Collectively as a team, Akron (3-9-3, 0-4-3 MAC) totaled seven shots with a pair on goal.
