Virginia Tech is working to improve its offense in 2016

A look at Virginia Tech's biggest positional need for 2016 and how the Hokies are addressing it in recruiting:

Biggest need: Isaiah Ford became the first 1,000-yard receiver in school history this past season. But beyond him and Cam Phillips, the Hokies have been sorely lacking at wide receiver the past several seasons. The numbers speak for themselves. In 2015, Ford and Phillips combined for 124 receptions. All other receivers combined for two. That says everything you need to know about the depth at that position. Because Virginia Tech was lacking in this area, the Hokies relied more on tight ends and running backs to assist in the passing game.
