Virginia, Syracuse looking to end ACC droughts

Fans in Cleveland can finally celebrate a championship after more than a half-century of near-misses and devastating losses, thanks to the Cavaliers’ upset of Golden State on Sunday. And that got us to thinking: Which ACC football teams are currently enduring some ignominious streaks? Here are a few of the longest droughts in the conference.

Longest streak without a 10-win season: Virginia, 26 years

The Cavaliers went 10-3 and earned a berth in the Citrus Bowl way back in 1989, and while they have five nine-win campaigns since, they’ve not reached double-digits. New head coach Bronco Mendenhall aims to end that streak.
