Virginia Tech’s next game will be head coach Frank Beamer’s last. It will offer an opportunity for the Hokies to boast a 1,000-yard receiver for the first time.
Not to be outdone, it will also give them a chance at a 1,000-yard rusher. And even though Isaiah Ford has drawn plenty of attention for his 937 receiving yards this season, the blossoming of Travon McMillian in the backfield has made him the unsung hero of this Hokies season.
McMillian, a redshirt freshman, enters Saturday’s Camping World Independence Bowl against Tulsa with 960 rushing yards.
