CLEMSON, S.C. -- On a high shelf of a bookcase behind Dabo Swinney’s desk, there’s a South Carolina vanity plate that reads “Tigs 1” and is dated 1982. The tag commemorates Clemson’s last national title, which culminated with a win in the 1982 Orange Bowl. It was given to Swinney as a gift from a fan with a request: Win another one.
