RALEIGH, N.C. -- Here are some thoughts and observations from NC State's 88-78 loss to Duke.
NC State dropped to 11-9 overall and 1-6 in the ACC with a 88-78 loss to No. 20 Duke at PNC Arena Saturday. The Wolfpack led by 10 points in the first half and took a seven-point advantage into intermission. The Blue Devils shot a blistering 70.8 percent from the floor in the second half and pulled away to end a three-game losing streak.
With the victory, Duke won in Raleigh for the first time since 2011.

As the Wolfpack jumped out in front in the first half it became clear that when NC State has a balanced attack it can hang with anyone.
