North Carolina isn't getting enough respect, but winning can change that

Through three weeks of rankings, the College Football Playoff committee has made its take on North Carolina abundantly clear.

In Week 10, AP voters had the 7-1 Tar Heels ranked 21st. The committee didn’t rank them.

UNC promptly demolished Duke 66-31, and the AP voters responded by bumping up the Heels to No. 17. They barely slipped into the committee’s rankings as No. 23.

Last week, North Carolina won its third straight game over a bowl-eligible opponent, this time a 59-21 thumping of Miami. It was enough to impress AP voters, who ranked UNC 12th. The committee has the Heels at No.
