Marquise Williams may be gone, but don’t expect North Carolina’s offensive game plan to abandon one of its biggest weapons now that Mitch Trubisky is running the show.
Williams was among the ACC’s most prolific quarterbacks the past three years, and a big part of his success was his ability to run. Arguably Trubisky, who played sporadically in 2014 and 2015, was already a more refined passer. But those distinctions aren’t particularly noteworthy, Trubisky said, and he’s hoping he’ll have ample opportunities to showcase his athleticism this year, too.
