Matt Galambos finds inspiration through brother, leads Pitt defense

PITTSBURGH -- Matt Galambos notched his fifth sack of the season Saturday, a fourth-quarter hit that turned into a fumble return for a Pittsburgh touchdown. It was a play that earned the approval of the majority of a sellout Heinz Field crowd, a crowd that included his grandmother, his half-sister and a handful of other members of the family’s traveling party.

Some 300-plus miles away, just outside Philadelphia, Galambos’ half-brother, John Margist, cheered from home. Margist stayed back for this one, given the ticket demand for an opponent like Notre Dame. He makes it to most home games, at least the ones that do not interfere with work duties or games of his own, such as the goalball tournament he has in Baltimore on Nov.
