CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Landon Turner isn’t much for social media, but after North Carolina slumped back to the locker room following a season-opening loss to South Carolina, he felt the need to make a statement.
The loss was heart-breaking. The Tar Heels had dominated the game. They might’ve been up big on the Gamecocks, but quarterback Marquise Williams had the worst performance of his career, throwing three interceptions deep in South Carolina territory. Fans were angry, and the team was disappointed, but Turner knew the dangers of letting those emotions run wild.
“I put a post out there that I had his back,” Turner said of his quarterback.
