In the last three NFL drafts, there have been eight Louisville players drafted from the state of Florida, including six from South Florida led by Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.
When Charlie Strong departed Louisville to head to Texas in January of 2014, many wondered if the Cardinals would enjoy the same recruiting success in the Sunshine State. In the 2014, 2015 and 2016 classes, Louisville signed 11 players from the Sunshine State after Strong signed 19 in the 2012 and 2013 classes (including three transfers).
One of those 11 signed by Bobby Petrino was quarterback Lamar Jackson in the 2015 class.
