AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. -- ACC commissioner John Swofford said Thursday the league is watching closely what happens with House Bill 2 in North Carolina, but there have been no discussions yet about pulling future championship games from the state.
The league issued a statement after its spring meetings concluded reiterating its "commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion" and said it will require "commitments to provide safe and inclusive environments from sites for which there are current commitments for ACC championships."
The Justice Department has filed a civil rights lawsuit over HB2, a law some consider discriminatory toward the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
