Though Ryan Finley has been practicing at NC State for only a week, his role during the summer did not go unnoticed.
As soon as the Boise State transfer quarterback arrived on campus, he began helping teammates better understand the offense new coordinator Eli Drinkwitz started installing in the spring. Having played under Drinkwitz at Boise State, Finley understood the ins and outs more keenly than Jalan McClendon and Jakobi Meyers -- the two front-runners competing for the starting job before Finley arrived.
"He's been like an extension of Coach Drinkwitz," NC State coach Dave Doeren said in a recent interview.
