Georgia Tech WR Micheal Summers leaves team

Georgia Tech wide receiver Micheal Summers has left the team, head coach Paul Johnson said Monday.

“Just said he didn’t want to play anymore,” Johnson said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Ken Sugiura.

A redshirt junior, Summers is second on the Yellow Jackets in receptions (12), and third in receiving yards (178) and touchdown receptions (two). He has started and played in seven of nine games this season.

Johnson said that Summers is on track to graduate in May, meaning that Summers could possibly transfer elsewhere and play immediately as a graduate transfer in his fifth year.
