Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher happy with QB Sean Maguire's progress

Jimbo Fisher's timeline for Sean Maguire's recovery from ankle surgery remains consistent, as the Florida State coach told reporters Tuesday that he is hopeful his quarterback can be at full strength by summer's end.

"He's back to 50 percent on the treadmill, running real hard," Fisher said during a Seminoles Booster tour stop in Tampa, Florida. "Starting to do drops already. Hopefully by June, middle of June, he'll be going full speed."

Maguire suffered a fractured left ankle in the Noles' New Year's Eve loss to Houston in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. A redshirt senior, Maguire has started six games for FSU over the past two seasons, and he will be firmly in the mix to start again in 2016 should he make a full recovery by fall camp, when he will face off with redshirt freshman Deondre Francois for the top job.
