Era ends at Florida State, but Seminoles could start another soon

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Georgia Tech ended the streak. Clemson ended the era.

Following Florida State’s 23-13 loss to No. 1 Clemson on Saturday, Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher sat at the podium and acknowledged the Seminoles’ run was over. The Tigers fans cascading over the field-level walls minutes earlier served as the curtain falling on Florida State.

“It has been a heckuva run,” Fisher said.

“Heckuva run” is coachspeak for a national championship and three consecutive conference titles. Florida State also went two and half seasons without a regular-season loss and 28 games over the span of three years between ACC defeats before the Oct.
