Trey Edmunds had a basketball game to play, but it was a little hard to focus knowing that at some point that evening there would be a surprise just for him. A short time later, a group of people started running for the exit doors. Edmunds got up, wondering why there was such a commotion.
Through the crowd, he saw Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer in a suit and tie, strolling into the gym with assistant Bryan Stinespring.
Surprise!
Stinespring had started recruiting Edmunds his freshman year; at the time, Edmunds was so blown away by the rings on Stinespring’s fingers, his only thought was, “Make a good impression!
