Just before spring practice, the Duke coaching staff approached Dwayne Norman about moving to linebacker to help fill a major need.
When he agreed, it set him on course to emerge as one of the unsung heroes on the entire team.
Norman led the Blue Devils with 104 tackles and was second behind Jeremy Cash with 8.5 tackles for loss. He also forced two fumbles. His role became even bigger once linebacker Kelby Brown went down with another knee injury.
