Kevin Maguire turned to his wife. He had just put down the phone after talking to their son Sean, falling back on the same advice he’s given Sean since he committed to Florida State in 2011.
It was tougher repeating it this time.
“You tell him not to quit and keep working hard and good things will come,” Kevin said, “and then I get off the phone and I talk to my wife and say I’m running out of things to say to the poor kid.”
Kevin always told Sean to take advantage when his opportunity came at quarterback for Florida State.
