Clemson’s post-spring depth chart didn’t include many big surprises, but Marcus Edmond’s emergence at cornerback might qualify.
The 6-foot-1 Edmond is in his fourth year at Clemson, and his impact on the field before this spring had been minimal. But with a starting job up for grabs, head coach Dabo Swinney said he saw a far more aggressive Edmond during practices.
“The light’s come on for him,” Swinney said. “He’s gotten serious about it. He’s always had the talent, but I just think he hadn’t been as focused on being a great football player.”
Of course, none of that is to suggest Edmond has a starting job locked up.
