One of the best stories on the nation's best team stemmed from a dare.
Brennan Goodnature, a walk-on running back playing in his final year of eligibility, hadn't played football since high school when he tried out to be a part of the nation's eventual No. 1 team this past spring. He hadn't even been on a competitive field since his freshman year at Emporia State, where he was a hammer and weight thrower. But despite his inexperience, he made an impression on one of the first people he met at Clemson.
Goodnature arrived at Clemson this past spring after a two-year break from school.
