Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson made it through six plays against Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff semifinals before his left knee told him he was done. He limped to the sideline, draped a towel over his head and watched his teammates carry on without him.
Each of them embodied his style: physical, relentless and overpowering, working in concert to completely shut down the Sooners and their dynamic running duo. After Clemson won and secured its spot in the CFP National Championship Presented by AT&T, Lawson stood on the field and took on all comers, welcoming any and all questions.
