Remember Stephon Marbury? He was the uber talented Brooklyn basketball prodigy who soared to stardom in Minnesota and, after stops in New Jersey and Phoenix, landed in what appeared—at the time—to be a triumphant return to his New York City roots courtesy of the Knickerbockers. Well, it all went rapidly downhill from there for Marbury as the Knicks suffered through five straight futility-laced seasons and the New York City point guard’s notorious feud with Head Coach Larry Brown ended with Brown laughing all the way to the bank to a tune of a near $60 million buyout.
