Practice, and lots of it, made perfect on Dontari Poe touchdown

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Co-offensive coordinator Matt Nagy estimated the Kansas City Chiefs practiced their screen pass to 345-pound nose tackle Dontari Poe 1,500 times and that Poe caught the pass on 1,499 of them.

He was exaggerating some, but the Chiefs did work on the play enough that Nagy wasn’t nervous about the outcome before they used the play to score a touchdown from the Oakland 1 in last week’s win over the Raiders.

“Honestly I (was confident it would work)," Nagy said. “Coach (Andy Reid) did a great job of putting that play together and designing it.
