Last year, there was only one mock draft roundup article that contained the name of the player the Kansas City Chiefs would ultimately choose with their first pick—former Mississippi State defensive lineman Chris Jones.
While the selection came in the second round (No. 37 overall) after a trade down, let’s still show ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay some love—he was the only one who had the Chiefs taking Jones at any point leading up to the draft, and it came in the “Mock Draft Roundup 3.0” article on March 2.
Jones went on to have a fantastic rookie season for the Chiefs, ranking as Pro Football Focus’ top pass rushing 3-4 defensive end with 42 quarterback pressures.
