Marcus Peters Wins AFC Defensive Player of the Week Award

The NFL made the announcement early Wednesday morning on “Good Morning Football,” which airs on the NFL Network.

Peters earned the award for his game against the New York Jets, during which he had two interceptions off of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, the first of which led to Kansas City’s only offensive touchdown of the game.Peters intercepted Fitzpatrick again in the fourth quarter.

Rounding out his stat line, Peters also had a tackle in the game and two passes defensed.

After finishing 2015 with a share of the league lead for interceptions with eight, Peters already stands alone atop this year’s leaderboard with four picks through three games.
