The Job:

As our Lead Python Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on our highest profile projects. You will contribute to all aspects related to engineering, technical design and development. You'll get to play with highly scalable technologies while learning to build robust applications and RESTful APIs using Django, 3Scale, etc. We are growing extremely quickly and are looking for talented individuals to help us scale our product to handle millions of sports fans. Being that we’re a small startup, we expect all member of the team to be comfortable having multiple responsibilities and being able to write test-driven, clean maintainable code. We expect you to be that leader – someone to share knowledge with the team and help propel us to be that leading mobile sports media company.



Who You Are:

  • 3+ years of experience of Python development and 5+ years of experience in software development
  • A CS degree from a top-tier university
  • Highly skilled at Python and MySQL, experience with Elastic Search is a plus
  • Strong Linux user with good understanding of command line tools and basic shell scripting
  • Strong with django, or proficient in many other MVC frameworks. Specifically, must be proficient in wielding an ORM
  • Analytical and adept at problem solving with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with HTML/JavaScript web application development, (JQuery, Backbone.js, bootstrap, d3.js, IPython) is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for user experience
  • A love for consumer mobile products and an interest in sports and sports media

Football Staff Writer - Full Time

For the 2014 NFL and College football season, we are looking for talented writers to help us provide timely content, social media updates, and push notifications to our millions of users.

The Job:

We're looking for knowledgeable, creative writers who are obsessed with college football and the NFL. The ideal candidate understands how to use social media to acquire traffic and has a strong understanding of search engine optimization.

Launched in October 2012, we reach 1.9M visitors a month between iOS and web.



Role/Responsibilities:

  • User acquisition: In order to scale this business, the number of mobile app users needs to grow exponentially. Responsibilities include: paid marketing (experience with Facebook/Google campaigns a must), organic marketing (social media and SEO) and product marketing (ability to identify specific product features that will boost acquisition).
  • Revenue: Develop several different hypotheses around monetizing the audience on web, in app and offline. Sales responsibilities, per se, not a must but needs to be able to identify potential revenue streams and mobilize/activate against them.
  • Business Development: Enter into partnerships with media companies and platforms that will enable app downloads, web traffic acquisition and revenue.
  • Finance: Manage the P&L with a close eye on costs and monthly burn, oversee payroll and work with outside accountants to file tax returns.



Requirements:

  • Ability to compile and analyze performance data and metrics and make decisions regarding campaign direction based on analysis
  • Great analytical skills that have allowed you to continuously drive strategic impact in your work
  • Creativity with growing a business in ways that both cover costs and generate operating margins
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external business partners
  • 10+ years work experience (3+ years in digital marketing or business development)
  • MBA
