Role/Responsibilities:

This position is the first sales role for a fast growing sports media company that will require the ideal candidate to have a proven ability to identify digital revenue opportunities, prospect and close sales, and implement advertising campaigns across multiple products. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Implement strategy and support the delivery of the sales objectives. Determine and report on metrics necessary to properly align the sales objectives with our business objectives
  • Develop several different hypotheses around monetizing the audience on web, app and offline. Must possess the ability to identify potential revenue streams and mobilize/activate against them
  • Negotiate with internal resources and clients on advertising programs to assure that customer satisfaction is achieved and revenue objectives are met.
  • Work closely with management and marketing to identify market trends, gain insights, identifying opportunities, and understanding consumer behavior on web, mobile, and video platform


Requirements:

  • 10+ years work experience (5+ years in digital sales)
  • Ability to compile and analyze performance data and metrics and make decisions regarding campaign direction
  • Great analytical skills that have allowed you to continuously drive strategic impact in your work
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external business partners

Video Coordinator

The Job:

Sports video consumption has fundamentally changed, requiring new talent, new formats, new platforms and new shows to be available to viewers on any device at any time. We are focused on creating video programming for this new generation of sports fans and are looking for a creative and resourceful jack-of-all-trades video coordinator who can assist with creating compelling short form video content for the web and other digital platforms.

We will expect you to lead the planning, scheduling, and creation of 2-3 original videos per day. Additionally, you will analyze results to uncover user behavior patterns that can increase audience for future videos.


Role/Responsibilities:

During the second half of 2016, original video will become a larger focus of our product offering, and we are looking for a creative video coordinator to write, direct, shoot and edit video content across the Chat Sports web, app, and social media products.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with our marketing, design, and content leads to create original, high quality content based on sports calendar needs
  • Manage multiple creative assignments in a hands-on fashion during all stages of development, from ideation through post-production
  • Manage workflow and deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Apply technical, editorial and creative storytelling expertise in editing, producing, design and visual effects
  • Research and develop new video concepts
  • Manage team schedule to complete videos
  • Analyze results and recommend adjustments as necessary


Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, will bring energy and passion to everything they do, and enjoys rolling up his/her sleeves to tackle projects both big and small.

  • At least 2-3 years experience in producing video
  • Strong knowledge of video editing software, including Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Relevant experiences in shooting video, including camera, audio, and lighting
  • Ability to serve on-camera as well is a bonus
  • A tenacious, fast-paced work ethic - we work FAST

Social Media Intern

The Job:

The position is based in our San Francisco office, but we would consider remote work for an exceptional candidate. We offer competitive compensation and a highly-collaborative work environment. During Summer 2016, we will be building out new products on video, and are looking for a motivated and creative intern to assist our fast-paced content team in discovery, creation, and distribution of video content.


Role/Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with social media, and have a proven following on personal accounts. You should be comfortable creating editorial video posts relating to a variety of topics and brands for our Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and Snapchat channels. If you are a creative person who understands how to connect with sports fans using great copy, images, video and interactions, this is the right job for you.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Identify the current and prior day's most important news and find/create short videos to tell the story across social media
  • Assist with research and media gathering
  • Handle Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Vine video uploads and administrative tasks
  • Work with our writers and marketing lead to plan and execute on our video strategy on social media
  • Perform on-air work on the Chat Sports Snapchat story - creating our daily “SportsCenter in 60 seconds” show Quick Hitters
  • Handle other social media initiatives and written content creation
  • Work with our Content Manager on content quality assurance across all Chat Sports web, app, and social properties

  • Deep knowledge and experience on social media, specifically with video

Create compelling, original content

We’re looking for writers who can do more than write game analysis. Chat Sports writers profile top recruits, coordinate draft coverage, interview star players, analyze trade rumors, and cover breaking news. The articles you write will be a mix of assigned topics from our staff, and topics you chose to write on your own.


Spearhead investigative assignments

From time to time, we may ask you to report on a specific topic related to your team – it’s up to you to get the quotes and information that’ll make the story come together.
