One-and-Done Rule Staying in NBA, NCAA Basketball

The NBA will reportedly keep the one-and-done rule for prospective basketball players in the new collective bargaining agreement.

The one-and-done rule was implemented in 2005 and requires eligible NBA draft players to be at least 19 years old and one year removed from high school. This rule has been highly debated among fans and analysts of the NBA and NCAA. Some argue players should be able to pursue a professional basketball career after high school. However, others including NBA commissioner Adam Silver want to raise the age limit to 20.

Duke has excelled in college basketball recruiting recently, which has also led to many players leaving after one year.
