DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke track & field decathlete Daniel Golubovic (’17) is set to represent Team USA at the 2017 Thorpe Cup on July 29-30 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The Thorpe Cup, named in honor of the first Olympic Decathlon Champion Jim Thorpe, is an international competition between the United States and Germany where teams are composed of up to seven men and seven women to compete in the decathlon and heptathlon. The top five men’s and top three women’s scores are compiled to determine overall team winners for each.

As a Duke graduate student, Golubovic saw great success during the 2017 outdoor campaign, highlighted by collecting second team All-America accolades in the decathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June and a sixth-place finish at the USA Track & Field (USATF) Outdoor Championships.
