TRUJILLO, Peru – Freshman javelin specialist Katelyn Gochenour represented Team USA at the 2017 Pan-American Junior Championships today and posted a third-place finish to round out her rookie campaign.
Gochenour registered a mark of 165-10 (50.56) to notch third place in the women’s javelin competition.
The Logan, Iowa, native secured her spot after placing second at the USA Track & Field (USATF) Junior Championships with a mark of 158-10 (48.43).
Gochenour capped her first collegiate season with a school-record toss of 178-0 (54.26) to finish sixth in the women’s javelin competition at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in June.
