Duryea, Crutchfield Named Tewaaraton Award Nominees

DURHAM, N.C. – Senior goalkeeper Kelsey Duryea and sophomore midfielder Maddie Crutchfield were among the 25 women’s players named nominees for the 2016 Tewaaraton Award, as announced Friday evening by the Tewaaraton Foundation.

Duryea, who hails from Beverly, Mass., was selected a Tewaaraton nominee for the second consecutive season. She has turned in an outstanding senior campaign, ranking among the nation’s leaders all spring in save percentage (.534). The Blue Devil netminder entered the week leading the ACC in saves per game, save percentage and ground balls per game and notched her seventh double-digit save performance of the season Friday in the ACC semifinals.
