Alaa is a former McDonalds & Parade All-American, former Duke PF who had a breakout senior year under coach k going from 8.9 points a game to 15.1 points a game in the 89-90 season on his way to being a first round draft pick of the Portland Trailblazers. Alaa played 5 seasons in the NBA and now is working as an analyst and broadcaster for Comcast Sports Network covering the Philadelphia 76ers.
