DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke fencing team received its first signee for the 2021-22 recruiting class as epeeist Rachel Kowalsky signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Blue Devil family.
Kowalsky comes to Durham from Oyster Bay, N.Y., and currently attends Oyster Bay High School. She is a member of the New York Fencing Academy under Sergey Danilov and also fenced in high school under John Bruckner.
Kowalsky has racked up numerous accolades throughout her fencing career and was named captain of her high school fencing team for the 2019-20 season and was named the team's MVP.
