Duke University held a very interesting competition this weekend, and I had the opportunity to participate. The Fuqua Business school hosted the very first Duke Men’s Basketball Hackathon, a competition focused on analyzing and visualizing data from the Blue Devils.
Duke Basketball has embraced data analytics, releasing a tool for Blue Devil fans that could “change the way we watch college sports” in 2015. The #DukeMBBStats website has been a hit and is a great resource to view stats for current and former Duke Basketball players.
The Duke Men’s Basketball Hackathon was a competition for teams to create new data visualizations and sports analytics tools to add to the site.
