DURHAM, N.C. – Sophomore Nicolas Alvarez will represent the Duke men’s tennis team at this week’s USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships (NIIC) at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centerin Flushing, N.Y. The NIIC, which runs from Thursday to Sunday, is the fourth national championship on the 2015-16 ITA National Tournament calendar. Earlier this fall, national champions were crowned at the inaugural Oracle/ITA Masters, Men’s and Women’s All-American and National Small College Championships.
Alvarez, the No. 7 seed for the event, will open the competition Thursday at 2 p.m. against Georgia Tech’s Chris Eubanks.
