Win one, lose one: White Sox split DH with rival Cleveland

The White Sox split their doubleheader with the second-place Cleveland Indians on Monday night, taking the first game 7-6 and dropping the nightcap 5-1. As the scores would suggest, there was plenty of good and bad to break down for the White Sox.

Pretty much from the start of the season, the peripherals have suggested that starting pitcher Mat Latos would come down to earth.

At the end of Monday night’s performance, Latos had an 11.8 percent strikeout rate and an 8.1 percent walk rate, and both those numbers were improvements upon what he started the day with.
