White Sox trade watch heats up before 2-1 loss to Twins in 12 innings

Just minutes before Friday night's 2-1 loss in 12 innings to the Twins, the White Sox scratched third baseman Todd Frazier from the lineup.

It's that time of year when the late move would make any Sox observer sit up and take notice.

The Sox quickly announced Frazier was out with flulike symptoms, but that didn't end the weekend trade watch for a team that last week declared it was open to any deal by Monday's trade deadline except for adding short-term rentals.

One of those under watch is Friday's starter, left-hander Jose Quintana, who gave up one run over 6 2/3 innings but didn't receive enough offense from his teammates to improve his record.
