White Sox third baseman Todd Frazier was a late scratch from Friday’s series opener against the Twins with flu-like symptoms.
Frazier was announced out of the lineup just a few minutes before the game, a move that always raises eyebrows just three days away from the Aug. 1 trade deadline.
Even though the absence Friday was due to the flu, Frazier is one of several Sox players who could be on trade watch this season. The Sox have said they will listen to offers on any of their players, and Frazier, who has hit 29 home runs this season, could help a contending team if the Sox decide to sell.
