White Sox general manager Rick Hahn joked at the general managers meetings he still was waiting to collect his award for winning last year's winter meetings.
The Sox were as aggressive as any team last December, but none of their moves paid big dividends, forcing Hahn to retrench and try again.
But he doesn't have the same resources he was given last winter, so Hahn will have to make a series of less glitzy moves and hope they pan out.
"Some of the reasons perhaps why we didn't meet expectations (in 2015) is that we entered with a lot of needs and weren't able to fill all of them," Hahn said at the recently concluded GM meetings.
