White Sox back where they started after splitting doubleheader with Indians

The White Sox played 5 hours, 50 minutes of baseball Monday against the Indians, watched eight home runs leave U.S. Cellular Field and extended and ended a winning streak, yet they finished the day where they started.

The Sox split a doubleheader, hanging on for a 7-6 victory in the opener and dropping the night game 5-1, to remain 21/2 games ahead of the Indians in the American League Central with two games to play in the series.

A Sox offense that had scored just three runs in the previous five games came alive in the opener only to fizzle against Indians right-hander Cody Anderson, who snapped his seven-game winless streak.
