Sunday's recap: White Sox 4, Mariners 1

Carlos Rodon made it three consecutive exceptional starts for White Sox starters Sunday, when he went 6-plus innings and allowed a run, five hits, a walk and struck out six in a 4-1victory against the Mariners at U.S. Cellular Field.

He also made it five exceptional starts in row for himself.

Rodon had to be on Sunday because through 7 1/3 innings, the Sox had more hit batters (three) than hits (two) against Mariners starter Taijuan Walker. But Tim Anderson and Melky Cabrera doubled that number to four when the former singled and stole second before scoring on the latter’s triple to give the Sox a two-run cushion, chasing Walker from the game.
