Moncada: Day 1
Yoán Moncada’s debut with the White Sox created a holiday atmosphere last night at Guaranteed Rate Field. Well aware of what his presence could mean for the franchise’s future, Sox fans greeted Moncada with a standing ovation as he strolled to the plate for his first at bat (see photo above) and reacted enthusiastically toward him throughout the game.
Yoán walked in his initial at bat, grounded to first the second time and lined out to center field in the sixth as the Sox lost a rain-shortened game to the Dodgers in the finale of both the series and homestand.
